I have a Dell Laptop running windows 7, and I like to connect it up to my TV (through HDMI) so I can watch BBC iPlayer on a bigger screen, or surf the internet from my couch.
I've just moved the TV to a new room and now the laptop needs to sit in front of the TV when its plugged in. I have it set to only display the image on the TV when it is plugged in to the TV as well.
When I close the laptop though it stops outsputting signal to the TV until i open it again. I have it set to "Do nothing" when the lid is closed but it obviously wants to do this anyway, regardless of what I say
Is there any way that I can keep the laptop outputting signal when closed? I'm guessing it "turns off" the screen when closed because you can't see it, but since the screen is now the TV I can very much see it...being blank.
