so, i just formatted my main hard drive on my laptop and reinstalled windows xp on it. now prior to this, i used my c drive for pretty much everything. i have a d drive that i pretty much only stored movies on. i put all of my documents onto an external hard drive prior to the switch.
the issue at hand is that it seems that my computer copied EVERYTHING from my main drive onto my backup (D) drive, including all my programs and the old copy of windows. i have no idea why it would do this, or if i've been crazy for the last year, thinking ive been using my c drive as my main, when in fact ive been using the backup drive. now, im totally sure that my fresh copy of windows is on my main drive. am i going to be ok formatting my backup drive?
also, being a computer novice, how do i even reformat a drive?
