Installing MS Picture it, wants to install IE5?

I just upgraded my system and am trying to reinstall microsoft picture it 2000 (my specs in my sig). The install hangs when or as it trys to install internet explorer 5. I have IE8 on my system and it doesn't like it. Any ideas how I can get around having this program wanting to install IE5?
