How do I get this movie to display?!

I have an S video cable hooked up to a projector from my laptop. I did all the display settings (at least as far as I know)...I got my desktop background to show up on the proector...but nothing else---no icons, no windows, etc. Nothing that I see on my laptop shows on the projector except for the actual background image. I tried using the Fn +F7 and F8 keys...one signals LCD on or off...and the other, no matter how many times I press it, signals LCD +TV every time...

So how do I get what I'm doing onto the projector?


PS...I'm trying to watch 300 on my wall...I'm pumped.

the second display, (the projector) is an extension of your desktop.
if you move the mouse to the far right of the screen you should see that it appears there.

load up your movie player, drag the window over to the screen that is the projector and maximize the player to play in full screen mode,

now enjoy the movie
