Hey guys,
What I'm looking for is some software that will act as both an amplifier and effects processor for my guitar. I tried this a year or two ago, and I got it working (sort of). The problem was that while I could plug my guitar into the line in on my sound card using a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, get sound out of it and apply several different effects, the output from my computer speakers was extremely low. The only way I could get acceptable volume was to run the guitar through an amp before it got to my sound card. This, of course, defeated the purpose of what I was trying to do. To make a long story short (too late), I want to plug my guitar directly into my sound card (with an adapter, of course) and play through my PC as if it were a small practice amp with a few built-in effects. Anyone done this? Free software would be a plus, but I'll look at any suggestions.
Thanks...
