I just downloaded ubuntu 9.04 and am looking for a good program to manage music. I tried to install real player but can't figure that out. so I am looking to figure out how to either get real player to work or find something better for ubuntu. I also tried to download amrok but it would download part way then give me some error.

Hi,

I might recommend that you go with the standard Rhythmbox Music Player. It should work just fine with your music.

I can try to help you with the other two if you want if you post the error messages. I will have a look at the real player later this weekend when I get some time.

Cheers!

avoid singbird it is clunky, uses too much ram and has too much web stuff. does not even have EQ

amarock is good but it gives signall 13 or 11 errors and also looks dodgy with GNOME.

XMMS has goot effects and sound but it old and playlist management sucks

pick your poison or just use VLC for linux.
