just put XP back on my laptop. i just started a course where i use mostly XP (MCSE/MCSA 2003) so i figured it would be better to use XP for it than Win7. Maybe flawed logic but i havent used XP in a while so i guess i want to familiarise myself with it once more. anyway, HP (because this is originally a Vista laptop) have caned all drivers and support for XP on this model (Presario CQ60-430SA) and im having real issues getting drivers for the various hardware i have.
biggest issue as it stands is my sound drivers, Windows cant even pick up a sound device (eventhough i know its there and works, since it worked fine on Vista and Seven) and when i tried to run the Conexant SmAudio 112 driver installer it refused to install because it couldnt find the device either. any suggestions? forgive me if this is a stupid question, ive been happily tapping on Seven for so long ive forgotten how to do this junk
the installer copies files, but when it tried to install, i get:
