Does my Windows Vista dvd work on all PCs?

I got this re installation Vista dvd when I bought a dell latitude e6400 and it says it works on all Dell PCs. Just wanting to know if this would work on a Dell latitude c400. Thanks

The DVD itself may allow you to start an installation on a new PC, but you'll need a new Product Key from Microsoft in order to actually use the OS.

It depends on what the minimum hardware requirements are on the new PC. Vista minimum requirements can be found at Microsoft Home Page | Devices and Services. If the Dell latitude c400.came with an OS you can also check the application Windows Compatibility center for hardware HCL.
