copying winXP CD

I made a copy of an old Windows XP CD and it seems to respond when I put it in the CD drive (the "Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP" screen comes up) but it doesn't respond on boot up when I leave it in the drive (i.e. it doesn't tell me to hit any key to boot from CD).

How can I make a copy of my original Windows XP CD so that the copy does exactly everything the original does?

You need to use CD copying software to create an image copy.

I downloaded a copy of Nero and burnt a copy. It seems to be working as the original now.
