Computer Freeze!HELP

OK, I do know Alot about computers but here Is one I cannot get. Everytime I shut down my computer it says "Windows is shutting down" Like normal on Windows XP. but it doesnt freeze there because my mouse moves but it doesnt move from that spot. But I can start it up and it will all run fine. I did an Ad-Aware scan.....Nothing but tracking cookies. I really need some Help.Thanx

you might have some driver conflicts or hardware conflicts....can you give some more details about your machine? I know I had this same problem when I got my new mouse and keyboard, I hooked them up via USB, instead of ps2, an it would do the same thing, I changed them back to ps2 and all was well.

Well, I did manage to fix it before you replied Although thank you for your quick reply. Istarted it up and was about to go into safe mode but instead I tried "Last Known Good Configuration" Then I started it and when I shut it down it worked Perfectly. Problem Solved!
