audacity help

I have audacity 1.2.6 verson

And wen I open an audio file in it it plays good and I can do any editting and it works.

Now I go to Edit and then click on select all
and my whole timeline gets seleced.

then I go to the Header Bx at the start of the timline and click the down arro and go to Mono.

But it is grayed out.

What am I doing or not doing that wont let me convert it to Mono???

If you have the latest version (I have 1.3.4 Beta. It may have been on earlier versions), you should be able to go to:

Tracks, Stereo To Mono.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before.
