Windows Live Messenger constantly crashing

I have used Windows Live Messenger since I got Windows 7 on release day, and haven't had a problem until recently.

As of late, it will arbitrarily just lock up completely and start using ~70% of my CPU until I manually end it from task manager.

No catalyst, no error message, it just stops.

I have tried completely removing it and reinstalling, and it does not fix anything.

Anybody have this problem? Know of any fixes? Thanks!

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down to Windows Live Messenger and click Change/Remove, now click Remove and uninstall the software. Click Finish. Go to My Computer > C:\Program Files and delete the MSN Messenger folder. Restart the computer, go to http://messenger.msn.com/ and download the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, make sure you click Save as and not Run, then install once it's downloaded.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it already, nothing changes.

Also, it's no longer that simple to remove. It doesn't have it's own uninstaller, you need to uninstall it through the "Windows Live Essentials" repair/remove P.O.S.
