PS3s can form Supercomputer?

I've known about the installtion of linux on a PS3 for a long time. I installed Yellow Dog Linux on my PS3 making it a fully fledged computer with a USB Mouse and USB Keyboard. That link isn't working for me. You don't need linux to make your PS3 use a keyboard and mouse.

Both my wired keyboard/mouse and my Bluetooth keyboard/mouse work fine within the PS3's XMB and browser.

I know but the keyboard and mouse are helpful when using linux. Which one doesn't work? They both seem to work.
