HD 5830 is out

ATI released yet another card. Just popped up on newegg.

For $240 it isn't bad but I think a 5850 would be a better deal. I have a feeling these prices will drop to more like $200 when fermi drops.

Its 800/1000 MHz with three SP clusters disabled, giving it 1120.

EDIT: It seems to perform slightly slower than a 4850 x2.

Yeah pretty much. They still don't have any uber budget cards though. I think the 5450 is the cheapest at $50.

They need a 5950 too. There's a pretty massive gap between 5870 and 5970.

EDIT: Holy crap the HD 6000 series is set to be released in 3-4 months. WTF?!?!

Looks like I might be keeping my 5770 for a bit longer. It rips through the only two games I play anyway.

I don't like how the pace of graphics are going. I think they should slow it down. This is why I am trying harder to get an 8800GT to SLI than to just get an 5770. No matter what I get, I'll be outdated in a month or two.

So what if there are newer cards? If it performs how you want, it really doesn't matter.

I just bought a 5750 for $130 the other day. Pretty awesome deal.

I was exaggerating a bit. ATI's 5xxx series hasn't been out that long and it seems that they're talking about releasing next gen (confirmation?).then you have Nvidia's renaming brigade and Fermi delays.
