email problem

sorry i just couldnt see an area to post this if im in the wrong place please let me know.
i am running vista and i have mail in my outbox which i cannot delete, every time i open my mailbox windows mail starts to try to send them....they are too large according to the error message but i cant find anyway to delete them please help.
