Have been storming through my a level chemistry till i got to this question. I don't understand. Topic is molarity. Rep to whomever can put forward a correct answer and explain to me what's going on.


f) What is the total number of moles of particles (ions, molecules) present in 0.35mol of copper(II) sulphate-5-water, CuSO4.5H2O?
 
Copper(II) sulfate will split into CU(2+) and SO4(2-) in water.

As far as the water goes, I believe what they are saying is that for every molecule of Copper(II) sulfate there are 5 of water. However what I don't understand is how they expect you to know how much of the solution there is because molarity is a ratio, and you need a volume I believe. So someone else should shed some light on this. (Sorry, 2 years removed from chem has made me forget a lot)

But water is 55.56 mol/liter if that helps.
