Cell Phone Question

Alright so I have a quick question about Motorola cell phones. I've been told by a few people that if I get a Motrola cell phone that is compatible with Nextel's service, that I will be able to put Boost Mobile's service on it, and I just need to know if this is true or not.

With some phones it is true...just like the Motorla Krzer is for t-mobile but works with verizon....

Alright well im looking at the Motorla i880, and from what i've heard I can take it to a dealer and they would be able to get it unlocked so that it would be compatible with boost.. can anyone confirm this?
