Avatar Size?

Okay I know this has been up for discussion before but I would like to know one thing. I'll use the Linux pre defined avatar as an example.

This avatar has the following sizing.

Width: 90 pixels
Height: 76 pixels
Size: 50.58KB

Now if we want a custom avatar were limited to the following.

Width: 65 pixels
Height: 65 pixels
Size: 14.9KB

If your concerned about space just make people upload there avatars to photobucket and link the URL rather than uploading them.

IMO with the resolutions people run at, 100x100 would be far better. Our avatar's don't fill the user area very well at all right now.

I am half-and-half on this. I would like bigger avatars, but I doubt I'd use it.

i would love a bigger avatar , even if they carnt make it 100x100.
a bigger file size like 50kb would be great .
no gif's can fit into 15kb

couldnt you just stretch it , i doubt you would see it very pixelated an extra 35x35

wow dreadfully mature , made his point and backed it up with a good reason why we should do what he suggests

i dont think the size of avatars makes any difference if you cba in either finding a custom avatar that fits or resizing one then an avatr obviously isnt that important to you
