Hey, i'm just getting into some programing for fun and I was wondering what is a good begginers book for C++

When I was starting out I used a book called C++ Programming: Program Design Including Data Structures - Second Edition. The author is D.S. Malik. It has been a great help to learn C++ and I still often use to refresh my mind on things I forget. It covers a wide range of C++ concepts so it will take you pretty far into the learning process.

Ahh nice, that http://www.seangreasley.com/ site takes forever to load.

Hmm I was wandering is thier a differnece in C++ code Style in programing for a program then a game? becuase i'm going to use the C++ for making my 3ds max models move in an enviroment like a game...

Not to sure about books, but I myself love video tutorials, they help me way better than text ever could. Check out http://www.seangreasley.com/

thanx dude, these tutorials work better than the books, but im still gonna read the books aswell, need to fill head with knowledge lol. thanxs

I also believe this book is good too. I have this one and it's pretty simple to get you started. The author is John R. Hubbard....

That question is a somewhat dificult one to answer. Things that can effect the answer would be, your experience level with programming, learning curve you would like to take, somewhat specific areas you would like to focus on(database's etc..) and so on. But to keep it simple. Any book is usefull in some way or another, and anything is better than nothing. me myself i try to get books on anything i can get my hands on.
