laptop help!!!!

I really dont know that much about computers I just know how to use the internet etc... and my friend has a Dell Latitude D610 for me without the cds that came with it so I wanted to know can I use the laptop without the cdz and what would be the best Virus blocker

From what you are asking I think everything is installed correct?
Your friend just doesn't have the original install cd's anymore right?

You should be able to use the computer just fine if that is the case.
Scan it, get rid of old programs and files. Then make a complete back up of it.

I would suggest using AVG(http://free.avg.com/) (free or full) and SpyBot search and destroy(http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html).

I would also recommend using a program called Revo uninstaller.
It uninstalls programs just like normal but then after will search for all of the stuff programs leave on your computer.
(that stuff builds up and can slow your system down)
