I have a Laptop that I need to know why this problem is happening.

I gotten a laptop from a friend for Christmas and when i go to install Windows Xp it formats the hardrive and then it finishes installing windows by going on the blue screen well when it has like 39 min. left the monitor clicks off but the power light is on and the battery is at full power. Why is it happening?

did you try and do a function and then like F5 or whatever key has the monitor symbol on it?

Have ya tried plugging it in when ya installing the OS?

I dont know what u mean trying to unplug the power while installing.... Os?
