hey guys

So i am fairly new to overclocking but i know my computer hardware fairly well
first off my setup:
amd fx8150
ASRock 990fx extreme 3
corsair h100
4x4gb ddr3 1600mhz
corsair 850w psu gold+
2 x MSI R6950

My question: i would like to do a bit of overclocking but my concern is do i have enough wattage and also how much overclocking could i go for a stable core. Also how would i go about doing so? i looked at the guide but was not that very helpful

The PSU should have more than enough juice to support a good overclock. The RAM might be a bottleneck though as the FX chips natively run DDR3 1866.

For the best results, you want to take your time overclocking. What I did was inch the multiplier up and run Prime95 for 2 hours. I did this until it became unstable and backed off slightly. Repeated the process for the FSB. I have my 1100T running at a stable 3.88GHz. You can adjust things like the Vcore, NB Voltage, HT link frequency to squeeze extra speed out of the CPU and have it stable.
