Hello all,
I just bought the WD Mybook World Edition 1 T. Being some what tech challenged I did not realize that this unit required (I think) internet access to operate. I have a small home system of 2 or 3 laptops and router with high speed internet service. I do not really need to have remote access anywhere in the world. (I also have concerns for security)
My question, can this unit be set-up as a stand alone external hard drive, with out access to the internet to work? When the internet is not up, My Computer does not recognize the Mybook external drive. As I said, I need the 1 tb storage space, but would prefer a unit that only requires being plugged into my laptop or system.
Did I buy the wrong external HD
