Two Desktops, Two Modems

Hey guys i have a desktop in my room connected to a modem, At&t dsl. My sister has a desktop in her room and a modem as well but the problem is we both cannot be on the internet at the same time. Either my modem is off so she can be on the net, or vice versa. What can we do so we can both be online at the same time?

Well, if you are both using DSL you should be able to get another phone line for one of you.

Or you can hook a router up to one of the modems and share the internet between you.
