I have adelphia cable, and it seems slower than it should be..i have download speeds of about 40 kb/sec; the installer told my dad that the cable was split down the line somewhere, so im thinking that might be the cause. i've tried running a cable directly from the modem to the computer (taking the router out), i've tried not using the splitter for the cable TV, but nothing helps. i saw something in radio shack that amplifies the cable signal; has anyone had much luck with one of these? thanks.
