Running a local server from a desktop

I have a desktop computer running windows 98 that i would like to turn into a server for a local/home network. I would like to be able to log onto it from other computers in my network and be able to run programs off it and things like that. Plz help me in detail or tell me where to go!!!

You could try VNC. It doesn't work exactly how you've described above, but you'll be able to control it and run programs.

RealVNC.com is a good place to start.

It is not exactly what i wanted but ten times cooler.. its great and is fine for what i want taks a million!!!!!!!!!! Thank you very much!
