New Router = Super Slow Internet!

Hello

I recently bought a Dlink 300 wireless router so my mum could connect to the internt on her laptop. Anyways I've now noticed signifigant internet slow down on both my pc and her laptop. I have ADSL2 and was getting around 400KB/s now I am getting less then 40KB/s.

My set up is a Dlink 502T with Dlink 300 Wireless router.

I have the 502T set to bridge.

Could soemone please tell me why this is happening and how do I fix it?

check your IP's. if there are no conflicts than did you reset the modems / routers and computers?

Also, is your Router authenticating to the internet, is your modem, or are you doing it on your computer? I am assuming it's PPPOE authentication for your DSL connection. And be sure to connect your modem to the Router through the correct ports.

if you using pppoe connection make sure you make the pppoe connection inside of your router. and if you have pppoe connection on your computer please delete it and restart the computer.

also what kind of dsl modem are you using?

Yes I work for a local ISP as a tech support and we do this probably 10 to 15 times a day since most of are connections are pppoe.
