I had this problem and resolved it myself.
I searched for hours fo a solution but was unable to find an answer so hopefully someone might find this usefull.
Right as above My router wouldnt register on my system
So i checked cables and every thing else i could think.
Anyway quite simple really.
Make sure all drivers are installed from mobo cd ----->
Which mine were.
The problem arose from me not enabling LAN in my bios
When disabled Network connections doesn't show in device manager.
