Hi All,

When I perform command line "nslookup" on the Windows server 2008 raised domain controller.
It says
"
C:\Users\Administrator>nslookup
Default Server: localhost
Address: ::1
"
I don't know what is meaning.
please explain for me.
As my understand it should be displayed by domain name

Thanks in advance.

You queried nameserver for information.

Since you didn't specify any server (and since you used the Windows version of nslookup), nslookup assumed that you wish to query yourself, i.e., localhost.

nslookup by default queries whatever DNS server is your primary DNS in your IP settings. Evidently, you are using IP v6 :):1 is IP v6 for localhost), and the primary DNS on this server is itself.

Once you are in nslookup you can change which DNS server you are querying by entering the word "server" followed by the address of the DNS server you wish to query ("server 8.8.8.8" will query Google's DNS, for instance).
