its not cheap at all. 255 dollars for 1GB of RAM. That is pretty expensive. A motherboard can support that if it supports DDR2. They make speeds so high is because Intels can use a forward multiplier so the RAM runs at 1000mhz but the FSB is slower. Intels like this extra bandwidth.
 
255 bucks for 1ghz of ram... realistically it seems cheap.. bestbuy, circuit city are selling it for $495... you think 250 is steep?
 
seriously though i'm just shocked at how fast my computer is going to become outdated... there already doing a project for making 4.5 ghz processors and 32 gb ram chips... i aint gonna buy a new computer just for this 64 bit sh*t
