Wiring USB cable

I need to get some juice from my USB port, I have stripped the cable down and there are 4 cables. The red and black are the 4.8 V juice but what are the Green and white? I know they are for data but will it hurt to just twist them together and tid them with electrical tape? Thanks for the help.

Do not short the green and white wires. Just cut them off and tape them up.
Those are the data wires and don't take kindly to being shorted.
