There's only one type of wireless network...that the wireless one. You need security and need to read your router manual

Go here. This is the very first page for your Network Configurator. Soooo freaking cool. It ask you how many PCs (desktop or laptop/wired or wireless), and other stuff and draws out a map with what parts to get. D-Link website and their supporting products are highly reputable. I recommend them:

right now i'm using a dsl service, and i have an smc barricade 108Mbps wireless broadband router.

i didnt mean many types of networking, i meant many forum threads regarding this topic , sorry bad grammer
