Microsoft re-writing 60% of Vista before release???
Microsoft may be planning to re-write most of Vista before releasing it.
Well, it looks like the wait continues.
Smarthouse reports that a Microsoft insider has confirmed that Microsoft is scrambling to re-write the majority of Windows Vista by 2007 Consumer Electronics Show.
Apparently the crunch is causing programmers to be pulled off Xbox projects to help work on the multi-media features of Vista. Intel is also providing a Viiv team to help Microsoft, and may delay the next version of Viiv to co-incide with Vista at CES 2007.
Given recent reports that Vista may require 2GB of ram to run I am not particularly surprised that they may have serious problems. It is mind boggling how much in the way of computer resources modern Windows takes.
