I have a Dell Dimension 4400,
1.6 GHz, and sadly, 128 MB of RAM
I want to upgrade to 512, but I'm not sure what RAM will work with this system.
I researched and found this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145024

for those of you who don't want to click on the link for whatever reason, here's the RAM:
CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 266 (PC 2100) System Memory

Will it work with my Dimension 4400?
Thanks,

Just make sure you have a 184 pin slot on your mobo. You will need to open up your compuer for that.

whats that mean?
how do I find it out?

Open up your computer, pull the ram out (CAREFULLY!), and see if the stick has one or two slots on the bottom of it.

I have that Everest Ultimate Edition and wow, I love it to death. I love the real time display in my system tray monitoring my temps and fan rotation. Pretty neat. All this time, I never tried that CPU-Z and yet, I've seen it quite often. It must be very CPU specific though, isn't it?

That is a picture of what a motherboard looks like, I just grabbed it as an example. You see those reallly long black and blue slots on the right in vertical direction? That is where RAM goes. That is a 184 pin slot.

There are white rim thingys at the end of 2 sides of the slot. Turn them in a 45 degree angle back. You can not install or remove RAM if you do not do that.

Here is a guide on how to install RAM
