Will this processor work?

I have an Intel D945GPMLKR motherboard and I was wondering if I could replace my stock processor with an Intel E8400. Same socket and family.

No. The board does not support the E8400's 1333MHz fsb.

I suggest a platform upgrade. What are current specs and what is your budget?
