I do the same thing. I just keep the essential shortcuts on my desktop for quick access(firefix, cs:s, trillian, and a few others)

It's not the Windows CD

It's Service Pack 2. I get that problem everytime I install SP2. Download TuneUp Utilities 2006 and you can change it back for 30 days

no.. When I installed this c.d it came with Sp0.. And it didnt have the XP theme.. Its a version of windows xp but Liter.. Less ram etc etc

I also have zero icons on my desktop. I have ObjectDock, Quicklaunch, and... the Start menu. I love a clean desktop!
