Where is the desktop shortcut program located on the hardrive?

It had been deleted from the quick select bar at the bottom.. i forgot the location of it on the HDD.

I'm using Windows ME

Off the top of my head it's here, but I have not used Win ME or 98 for years. So I might be off target.

Your main problem is not the shortcut, but the OS.

Desktop or Taskbar are 2 different places.As far as Task bar,it's usually created during installations.
But try right click taskbar and select New, or investigate it's options.
Think removed not deleted.You can put it back.
Is this grammar ok ?
