Does the monitor really effect those kind of settings? For example, when you go to the display panel of your Control Panel, and you hit settings... there's only so much you can shift the shiftbox to the right (bigger resolution, shift it to the left for a smaller resolution).

And that's universal for all 7600GT's?

Would that resolution look okay on a 24" monitor? Or would it be oversized or undersized?

It depends for 24". Are you looking at widescreen? or just normal. Normal would be 1900x1200, widescreen is 1920x1200. But i havent seen a normal 24", ive only seen widescreen.

It's a Dell ultrasharp... yeah, it's widescreen.

as long as the video card supports it you should set the res to the highest the monitor supports.
