Might as well advertize it on EBAY, cause if you made a mistake buyer the wrong type of RAM, (especially 1 Gig) who on this forum would want to buy it.
Pay for your mistake; $30 and then get want you want is not much and don't wait too long. In a few years from now, your computer may not even be good enough to make an anchor and your RAM may be just good to punch a hole in it and make a necklace! (ram souvenir)
