Weird Motherboard Noise

hey guys,

you may think that i've gone a bit crazy after i tell you whats happening but please stick with me.. lol. ok, so when ever i use the scroll wheel on my mouse the motherboard creates a small clicking noise near the i/o ports. this is really confussing me and the noise is definetly coming from the i/o port. could it be shorting or sparking everytime i use the scroll wheel?
