Well lately i've been pulling overtime at my job (its part time ) to get a new rig. Well I finally just counted and I had a $1100. I figure if I use a case I have lieing around, a powersupply i have, and some old hd's, i can build a pretty nice rig. As always the last step before buying my parts is posting them to make sure I didn't overlook some kind of hipply dipply doo daa compatibility issue. Specs:

not bad brother.....just a suggestion...if you dont mind spending a bit more..then you might wanna get a bit faster cpu....

Good picks...Faster cpu maybe, but man, you just might want to go higher than 512 megs of ram.. I suggest 1 gig or more..

o yah im getting 2 sticks of that, shudve wrote that. I doubt I'll be able to scrounge up enough money for a much faster cpu, but i'm pretty confident with the amount of fans I've ordered the air flow will be more then enough to allow me overclock my processor to at least 2.4 ghz easily, and probably 2.6 if i want. Hopefully I should be good with the 3200

wow..wow...wow....dude...I think you are going too far...you wanna overclock you 1GHz cpu...to 2.6.....thats more than double the speed.....you might wanna think about that....

1ghz fsb, 2.0 ghz operating frequency . you probably just skimmed thru it since the titler said 1 ghz FSB.

Well rather then post whore my own thread, i'll just edit this one. No problem man. After all it said 1 ghz in the title. And i doubt you were reviewing my specs with a fine tooth comb. A mistake anyone could make

I've decided to switch to a motherboard with sli capabilities. This one to be exact:

I was just wondering, are there any advantages to buying a motherboard with SLI if your not going to use it (at least for a while). I figure, in about 4 years my 7800gtx will be fairly outdated, and If I just throw another one in (hopefully the price will drop by then ), and it'll work like a charm. And I figure thats a good investment of my $40, rather then going out and buying the next latest greatest card of that time and wasting more money . Thanks for your help! (Looks like i'll put off ordering 'till tommoro.
