sound card help

I have a Toshiba Satelliate A85 laptop, 512MB RAM and sound card is a AC'97 Audio Controller with Realtek AC97 Audio. I have not been able to adjust the sound to where it is very loud at all. I have speakers that are built in the top next to the keyboard. When I play something, the volume is very low even with all volumes turned completely up. I've tried using headphones and speakers and still have the same problem. Any ideas to how I can adjust to make volume louder? It's a real pain in the butt

Erm ur title shud say sound card lol ;)

Habve u adjusted the sound levels in the volume control in windows? not just on the side of ur laptop.

Have you gone into the sound properties and made sure the WAV, MIDI, and CD Audio sliders are near the top.

I have done all of those things. Just the speakers are built on top. The volume control is built in somewhere else. I've tried to do everything but going in and updating the driver for it. I was hoping that I had missed something along the way.

Your Windows Media Player player volumes are up too?

You could try updating the drivers. Might just fix your volume problem.
