VBscript virus- need help restoring

Somehow I got some old virus from 2000 called ILOVEYOU or something like that... basically changes most image files into VBscript files, which will run the virus again if you try to open. I was stupid and didnt have a previous restore point or anything I could do, and now I lost some pictures I didnt back up that were pretty important... would be appreciated if anyone knows how I could get those files back, if it's possible. Thanks in advance.

That talks about getting rid of the virus, which I've already done. Since all the image files get replaced by it, I'm wondering how I can get those files back. If it says how to recover the lost files, I must have missed it, but thanks for the link. Any further help is appreciated.
