Ok, so I take my laptop to school so I can do my work on it instead.

So the first day I took it into school, I had to take it into the techie, so he could create the appropriate batch file, in order for me to connect to my share (files)

So, he made the .bat file, and this is what it looks like inside notepad

net use h: \\wellmem03\4049jo$ *password* /user:wellington\4049jo /persistent:no

**Where is says password, would contain my password, but I had to take it out because it my password for everything**

Ok, so, this is to connect to my files, and my files only.

The Internet however, does not work with me plugged into the school network, I can only get my files, via a mapped drive.

So, does anyone know (providing I can get the server name)...Does anyone know the batch file, or settings I would have to enter, to get onto the internet?

Im sure it would just be a case of making the .bat file, and clicking on it like I do at the moment?

I asked the techie to put me on the internet, but he is not allowed because I can get on porn and stuff, so he said If I can find a way, he's cool with it.

All I want to do it get on the internet, any way possible. Im not going to go on sites I cant normally get on, just CF and google, in order to complete my coursework.

Why the complication? Why not just connect to the wireless network, and ask him for the network key?

Your school sucks! :p

Well in that case, plug into a router at the school and gain the network key.

But, thats my two cents. Probably doesnt work that easily though.

Our school does suck computer wise, most of them are 300Mhz P2, with 128MB ram, and like 4GB HDD's.

I dont think its that simple because it all goes through a server...several of them..

First, old thread

Second, pointless post

lhuser>> Third, not old
Fourth, he's saying the same thing you did.

Hey, we still use the Pentium CPU of 200MHZ and celeron 433MHZ. After that, comes new Dells. The old ones are really crappy with crappy monitors and the second thing, is we hae CD drives with jammed doors :p
