My laptop only has 3 USB slots, 1 is occupied by the laptop cooler, 1 is occupied by an wireless mouse, and the other is occupied by an USB keyboard. I have an USB hub from a friend, I don't know what brand or anything, but when I plug in the USB hub, it either makes transfers slow when storage drives are connected, or the mouse/keyboard won't work when they both are connected through the USB hub.
I was wondering if this applies to all USB hubs, and if there is anyway to make this work without disconnecting anything or having anything run about 5x slower.

If you are wondering why I have an keyboard and mouse hooked up to my laptop, it's because it's easier access to where I have placed my laptop.
Thank You.

Is it a self powered USB hub? Sometimes devices won't get enough power if the hub is USB powered. That might be the problem.

Yeah, it's an USB powered. That's what I assumed too. Well, since nobody else replied in this, I guess this is resolved. +rep to you.
