Upgrading Sound

I was thinking about upgrading the sound on my pc. First of all i dont know if i should, if there would be a big difference.
On board 7.1 CH Intel High Definition Audio CODEC
Supports auto jack sensing and optical S/PDIF In/Out

You will definately hear a big difference with the X-Fi including less CPU usage as well.
