Few things:

One: I would not get the motherboard bundles because most of the ones I see on tigerdirect aren't that great. Plus you have to buy a Heatsink for the CPU anyway as it doesn't come with the bundle.
Two: I would kill my self if I had that video card in my computer. Not only is it worse than some onboard video cards, but its out of date. If you plan on running vista that won't work at all.
Three: What operating system are you going to use?
Four: What are you going to be using this computer for? Gaming, Internet/Email/Work, media, etc?

My recommendations for the video card would be a bit more expensive if your going to use this computer for media and DVD's of the sort. The 3450 is a decent card for everyday use.

don't even thing of buying that.
It will be a slow slugggggish one from start.

for memory, get 2x1 Gbyte ddrII 800 anykind of memory,
as for hdd aim for a samsung ~300 Gbyte drive.

For optical drive, go for a pinoeer 21xD --> cheap and good.

for case chose anything You like, I would suggest to get a normal ATX (4 5,25" drive space) type, for powersupply anything from 400 and above will do just fine. (well.. codegen NOT, never ever buy that. Neighter do mercury.) Get an LC power PSU, those are usualy good ones. (better than avarage, but still affordable rice)

what this setup knows..
Well, some gameing, offcource, and will work flawlessly for a long time. You can get vista on it, no problem. And won't LAG.
If -for some trange reason- it Would, just buy a fast CF card (anything from 233X speed will do) and plug it in, tell windows to use that to store swapfile.
That WILL do the job.

If you look in my post, you just linked him to the same motherboard I have. As for the CPU, its fine. By the looks of it, he just wants a computer to use and not do anything too CPU intensive. There's no need for a X2 5200+ and it just raises his price up higher. It's his choice, but know you won't see much of a difference between the two CPU's.

Also, a 3450 is a lot better than a 8500GT with 1Gb of memory. The 1Gb of memory doesn't mean a thing if its not fast enough.

The hard drive is fine. Western Digital is a good brand, no need to use a Samsung.

As for the memory, I would have to agree there with 2457. It is part of the standard these days to have at least DDR2 677Mhz RAM. But because your not using Intel, if you upgrade to DDR2 800Mhz Ram, you will probably see a difference. Also, why do you need 4Gb's of RAM? If your into photoshop etc, then it would do you good to do as 2457 suggested and get a X2 5200+. If you don't use memory intensive programs then just go with 2Gb's. If you go ahead and get 4Gb's, be sure to buy a 64Bit Operation system to take advantage of all the memory.

well seeing his original choice of vga card I felt he does not need over a mid performance card, and that 9500 gt is just fine for it.

if he plans to use XP, 4 Gbyte ram is too much. It won't handle it.
Only 3,5 Gbyte or so.

So stick with 2x1 Gbyte.

mm I havent noticed You chosen the same mobo, sorry for that..

And as for the x2 amd cpu.. well, its cheap and works well, I gues its not a big deal..

As you won't be doing CF or SLi or anything, you don't need to spend so much on a full tower case and you could save some money here. The Cooler Master RC-690 is a great case. I have seen it in the flesh and it's very smart and well-made.

Like others have said, the bundles don't leave you with a lot of choice and you're stuck with a pretty shit motherboard there. I would buy both separately. 780G board + 5000+ X2

I dont think the 4600+ is slow, its pretty fast, i had it, and i could max a lot of games with an 8800GT, and convert videos and stuff pretty fast too. that 5200+ will probably shave off a few seconds.

You posted the 8500GT BTW.
and it seems like it costs more than the 3450, and if what NEED WOW NOW says is true about the performance about these two, then its better to get the 3450.
The 3450 is $40 and doesnt need an MIR., and the 8500GT is $76 before MIR.
The amount of RAM on a graphics card only deals with the resolution of the display, the higher the display, then the higher the GDDR is needed. At least thats what people are telling me.

Conclusions can be made at resolution 1280x1024 ultra quality for the nvidia,
(avarage 35,8 fps)

and 1024X768 at ATI/AMD 3450 card:
1024X768 avarage fps 26.

So 8500gt IS faster.

im actually using this computer for a server....the os will be windows server 2003

sry to not tell you guys in the beginning im making my own server

thats why i have a not so good video and sound card because i wouldn't need it and thats why i have 4 GB's of RAM and 1TB of hard drive space

is it still bad though?

in that case, get a cheap mobo with integrated vga chip.
Anything will do.

get a nice 65 watt rated cpu, it will run colder, and will just do fine for a small server.

I would use samsung drives, and a serial ata raid card, not going into details why.

get a lan card too. (realtek IS not good) mostly anything else will do.
from experience I know motherboard integrated ones freak out more often than normal ethernet cards..

get a psu with 14 cm fan, I think an alcpower psu will do just fine..
make sure you got surge protectors and other safety stuff.
Just like UPS.

if You can, use linux as operating system. Much better than windows in server enviroment. If its to be a webserver/ftp server it will do muc much better.

depending on what You wanna use this "server" for , You may want to buy an industrial computer, and add a sata 2 raid card to it...
an ftp server does not need to much of cuomputeing power / memory to work properly.
