I have a problem with a new computer I just finished building. I beleive it is all connected, but it does not turn on when i press the power button. The computer does make a squeak noise when i put the IO switch into the O depressed (I guess that is on?). My components are as follows:

MSI K9N4 Mobo
AMD AM2 CPU
WD Caviar SE Westen Digital EIDE HDD 80GB
NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT PNY Tech
Alienware 420W PSU

If anyone could try to help me with my problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Do ya mean the 0 position on the power supply? Should be on 1. Also have you connected the power button on the front of the case to the mobo connector?

I believe that the power buttons are hooked up, but there is no speaker connector i can find, and it says to hook it up on the mobo (in the diagram it shows it). Is there any way for me to start the comp without the front power button so I can check to se if it works and if everything is good internal?

Yes, you need a screwdriver or something similar, and you just need to short the 2 power pins that the power button connects to, this will send the signal to power up the PC

for future reference....just so you know,

the I/O are binary

I = On
O = Off

or I = 1
O = 0
