My system is screwed up. It won't recognize my dvd drive, and the odd time it does, it says that it wasn't installed correctly and that it may not work properly.

It doesn't even show up when I click on my computer.

Help?

Does it show in BIOS? If it does then try booting into safe mode, and removing the drivers for the drive and IDE channels in device manager. Reboot the pc, and let windows reinstall them. They may just be corrupt.

Yes, they may just be corrupt...or try switching the IDE cables around..as raffaz said.
