Suggestions for video card

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor

ABIT AN8-ULTRA Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard

CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory


I want to spend $100- $150

A 6600GT would work, I would also recommend an X800, better than the 6600GT, and there is one on newegg for about $150.

To be honest, that budget might now get you the best card in the world. Here is what I suggest on that budget though.

This one is actually 158, but that is still very cheap for a 6600GT. This card is better then the one above.

This is mainly a recording computer. but I want to play battlefield II on it.

Are these cards good enough or should I increase my budget.

Either an X800, X850 or a 6800GT

If you want the bset, single (nonsli) card, get an x850xt pe. They pwn... seriously. The 6800ultra is close, but when put to the test... ati is there. Now for sli, there's a different story. Of course, your budget is low, so get a 6600 or like me, an x800. I got mine for $198, and damn, it's a fine card. Or the x700, even that card isn't really the best. Anyting from ati from x600 is alright. As for nvidia, the 6200 is crap, even the 256, so just get 6600.
